Be Unreasonable.

"You won't find reasonable men on the tops of tall mountains." – Hunter S. Thompson
If you have stumbled upon Condition One and decide to dip your toes into the water, one of the first things you will find is an unyielding, unshaken, and consistent program.
That's the point.
Story Time
I was walking up an almost sheer mountain slope with anywhere from 70 to 90 pounds on my back during the Mountain Phase of Ranger School. This is a common experience for all Ranger students during the course, but I specifically remember this movement. It was late, the ruck was unbearable, I was exhausted and hungry, wet from sweat, and chilled from the night air even though I was moving uphill under load.
Trying to keep my head up with the night vision attached to the front was craning my neck and killing my while I walked. My helmet felt like it weighed 100 lbs. All I could do was focus on the feet of the Ranger in front of me because his lower legs were in my field of view due to the steepness of the terrain. That's all it was. One green circle following the feet of another man, uphill for hours.
At some point in the movement, I was so delirious and exhausted that I reached out to grab a tree for support to pull me up. Only I had grabbed the leg of the Ranger student in front of me and almost brought both of us tumbling down the mountain. In that moment, I thought, "This is unbelievable. This is absurd. How can I continue? How can any of us continue?"
The Plan
There will be workouts that are programmed by Jonathan, that are absolutely unreasonable. They are effort to madness. They are too heavy. They are too long. The work capacity required to finish will make the rest of your day slower. Here is the secret, that's the point.
When you signed up for this life, you signed up to be unreasonable. You jumped into a pool with people who left the sane world long ago. Condition One does not look for those who are reasonable, safe, or timid. That is not the culture here. We are unreasonable. We are unshaken. We are dedicated to this beyond all normal thought processes. The Plan is built to build consistency over time so that what was once unreasonable or impossible, has now become banal and low stress.
That is the entire point of Ready is an Emotion. The emotion that you will feel, if you follow the plan, will become one of consistent acceptance to difficult things. The tasks that the world sees as impossible or incredibly difficult will become commonplace for you. You will transcend the world of the 99% of human beings and move comfortably into the 1% of those of us who do not accept this fate.
Whether your challenge is Ranger School, a selection, SWAT raids, or just getting 4 kids dressed, fed, and moved to school. Everything else in life will become easier if you follow The Plan. You will become stronger physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.
Final Thoughts
We finished the movement to the top of the mountain. Every Ranger student was accounted for, and we began to move after a 2–5-minute break. You could hear the groaning of exhausted, hungry, and broken men once the march began anew. No more than 30 seconds into that movement, the Ranger Instructors hit us with contact. Insanity.
"This can't be happening. We can barely move." I thought.
Unreasonable men fought it out on top of a mountain in northern Georgia until late into the night. Unreasonable men woke up the next day and did it again. And again. And again.
Follow The Plan.
Fight for what you love.
Become Unreasonable.
Jackson out.
